In Botkyrka art is used as a catalyst in the social structure. Residence Botkyrka is a studio program for internationally active artists, architects and curators. Here different skills and experiences come together and develop at the intersection of artistic work, research, educational work, social and urban planning.

Helsinki-based artists Minna Henriksson, Sezgin Boynik, Kalle Hamm and Dzamil Kamanger are currently staying in Residence Botkyrka.

Fittja Open 2011 is Residence Botkyrka's annual presentation of public art. The exhibition opened on September 10 with presentations, performances and pizza.

Residence Botkyrka is part of the collaborational project Re-tooling Residencies, giving oppurtunities to young Eastern-european curators.
